LibKey Nomad

LibKey guide, promotional material and directions on finding the browser extension

What is LibKey?

The library is always looking for ways to make research easier for our users, and LibKey will help you get to full text faster than ever.

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that once added, will add a download button you can use to download PDFs quickly.

How do I get it?

First, you will need to download the browser extension.

Third Iron, the company that makes LibKey, offers this handy page to help you find the correct extension for your browser:

If you prefer to find and download the extension yourself, please see the directions below for Google Chrome.

On Google Chrome:

(not a Chrome user?  The tabs on the left will show these directions for Edge and Firefox users)

Once you find the Extensions page, search for LibKey Nomad:

What next?

Once you have activated the extension or add-on, then you will need to select your institution.

Just click on the green teardrop-shaped icon, search "University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine, Preston Medical Library"  and you are ready to download some PDF's!

What will I see when I search?

LibKey Nomad will eliminate unnecessary clicks when you search.  When you see the "Download PDF" button, just click it and you have the full text.

It will also save you time by informing you if an article is not immediately available. If instead, you see the "Access Options" button, that means the article may not be immediately available, but the library can help you get it.  A full description of all LibKey Nomad buttons and what they mean is included in the brochure linked to on the left side of this guide.
