You've probably heard a lot about health literacy, but what exactly is it? Many think its the extent to which a patient understands, but it is much more than that. It's also about the healthcare system and how providers communicate with their patients. This research guide outlines what health literacy is, the impact, and how you can help improve health literacy. There's also some specific information about health literacy in Tennessee.
