Wellness Program Bibliography

Wellness programming is likely to be seen in the workplace for some time to come. Because of this, the quantity of literature on this subject will also increase and the quality of results will be refined. Below is a selection of wellness program-related articles that can serve as a starting point for information on programs, statistics, and strategies that have been identified.

Health Care Organizations

The National Institute for Health Care Management Foundation (NIHCM) is a nonprofit that conducts research and policy analysis on health care issues. Their publications address broad health care issues; the Prevention/Wellness section of their Publications list includes articles on wellness programming.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) offers articles on different wellness programs. Articles are free online, but sample toolkits and guides require SHRM membership.

The federal Office of Personnel Management provides resources for federal agencies, but includes links to health-related webpages and a concise overview of the health topics that many workplaces address in their wellness programming.

The Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) is a nonprofit resource for all aspects of workplace wellness. They provide free online resources, conduct trainings and webinars, and publish an e-newsletter.
